The Genesis of the Modern State in the West began in the late XIII Century and achieved its consolidation in the XVIII Century, it was needed to make certain changes and use several resources in order to legitimize the monarchical power. Among them stands out the intellectual dynamics, which includes aspects such as: images, speeches and political treaties as well as spectacles, civic and religious ceremonies. We have chosen among these resources some preaching examples given in Peru during the XVII Century and show the important role performed by sermons legitimating the Habsburg Dynasty in our territory
La génesis del Estado Moderno en Occidente iniciada a fines del siglo XIII y que ha logrado su consolidación en el siglo XVIII necesitó realizar ciertas modificaciones y emplear diversos recursos para legitimar el poder monárquico. Entre ellos destaca la dinámica intelectual, que comprende aspectos muy variados tales como: las imágenes, los discursos y los tratados políticos pero también los espectáculos, las ceremonias cívicas y religiosas. Hemos elegido entre esos recursos, algunos ejemplos de la prédica en el Perú del siglo XVII y mostrar así el papel importante que tuvieron los sermones legitimando la monarquía de los Austrias en nuestro territorio
