The article at hand is intended to examine briefly the delicate ethical question that has to be considered when social researches are carried out, as a result of educational investigations. The ethical question is not always an obvious one, it is frequently ambiguous or something no one is aware of. That’s why it is necessary to have certain formal codes that can define acceptable behaviors. In other words, the existence of specific norms will be responsible, in the context of investigations, especially investigations about human beings, of not hurting the participant, providing a fair and equivalent treatment and, besides, the right to privacy because, often, in social research there is a high level of intrusion in people’s private life.
El presente artículo se orienta a examinar brevemente la delicada cuestión ética que se debe considerar cuando se lleva a cabo una investigación social, como sucede cuando se realizan investigaciones educacionales. La cuestión ética no siempre resulta obvia, sino que con frecuencia pasa inadvertida o es ambigua, por lo que se hace necesario poseer ciertos códigos formales que definan los comportamientos que se consideran aceptables. Es decir, la existencia de una normatividad específica propende a que el contexto de la investigación, sobre todo cuando se trata de seres humanos, no lastime al participante, brindándole el derecho a un trato justo y equitativo y, además, el derecho a la privacía, porque, con frecuencia, en la investigación social hay un grado de intromisión en la vida privada de las personas.
