Cloud Computing es un paradigma que define un nuevo modelo de prestación, uso y entrega de los servicios de tecnologías de la información (TI). Al utilizarlo las organizaciones podrán satisfacer sus necesidades de información sin tener que comprar o añadir equipos, software ni personal. This article is based on research conducted by the authors between 2011 and 2012, in the framework of the implementation of research projects, sponsored by the Scientific Research Institute of the University of Lima (IDIC). In such research, the technological evolution of the Datacenter was analyzed, and the creation of the technology and management aspects of a Virtualized Datacenter (DCV) were proposed, in order to provide services for the development of laboratories in the academic university field. The findings of this research were applied in the planning process of the “Laboratory Datacenter” of the Systems Engineering Career at the University of Lima, which was used in implementing the new syllabus.

Government in information techonologies-IT was developed to help organizations make better and more efficient use of IT, supporting them to achieve their strategic objectives with the participation and full commitment of senior management. The premise of this investigation is that this approach can and should be applied in university institutions; accordingly, an analysis was carried out about the state of the art of this concept and the main reference frameworks and standards to be applied available on the market. As a result of this analysis, an IT Governance model (GTIUP) is proposed, applicable to Peruvian universities as well as two supporting tools for its implementation.
