El presente estudio se enmarca en una problemática no solo a nivel nacional, sino mundial, como lo es la infección por VIH y su continuo incremento en cuanto a su prevalencia y estadio clínico avanzado (SIDA). En nuestro país, existen aproximadamente 70,000 personas viviendo con la infección y solo la mitad tiene un diagnóstico según datos de ONU/SIDA, lo cual favorece a que la infección se pueda ir propagando de forma desmesurada, especialmente en gente joven y grupos vulnerables como: homosexuales/bisexuales, trabajadores sexuales, pacientes privados de libertad y los consumidores de drogas parenterales. Introduction: Anemia and low birth weight are very important public health problems. Objective: To determine the association between anemia in pregnant women with risk maternal age and low birth weight in the Obstetrics-Gynecology service of the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Hospital, in the period from October to December of the year 2018. Methods: A study of non-experimental, retrospective, cross-sectional, analytical, case-control type.
