La distancia que separa al lector moderno de la Biblia del lector de hace dos mil años no solo es temporal sino también lingüística, sociológica y cultural, haciendo problemática la comprensión de su mensaje a los lectores actuales. The emergence of new approaches to approach the biblical text that occurred in the second half of the last century in the field of biblical exegesis has meant an enrichment of the critical historical method, classified as essential for biblical exegesis. Among the new methods of approaching the biblical text is the socio-historical or contextual approach.
