The purpose of this study is to reveal the experiences of psychological violence exerted by the partners at the Women´s Emergency Center. District in Perú. This research was conducted with qualitative methods and is viewed through a constructivist lens. It was developed under the phenomenological design processes, established in lived experiences. Methods of data collection involved semi-structured conversational interviews and direct observation, allowed for a thorough analysis of the women’s experiences. Based on the data collected, categories of violence emerged, including psychological abuse, women ‘self-conception during the relationship, the presence of support networks, emotional dependence on the women’s feelings during the relationship and the main cause of separation.
