Atherosclerotic carotid artery disease is a significant cause of cerebrovascular events worldwide. Current international guidelines for the management of this condition provide general recommendations that often overlook differences among specific population groups. Although sex- and race-related disparities in disease prevalence are acknowledged, there remains a notable lack of studies focused on the prevalence, progression, and management of carotid artery disease in Latina women.

El embarazo no planificado (ENP) es un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial asociado con mayor morbimortalidad materno-infantil. Existen factores asociados como la edad, estado civil, y el nivel de educación. Analiza los factores asociados al ENP en mujeres de 15 a 49 años del Perú según la Encuesta demográfica y Salud Familiar (ENDES) del 2017. Realiza un estudio probabilística bietápico y de bases secundarias que contó con 1234 mujeres embarazadas después de los criterios de selección. Los datos fueron descritos con medidas de tendencia central y dispersión. We attended a symposium on health reforms in Latin America, organized in the context of the V Congress of the UNESCO Bioethics Network, which was unveiled different visions of health care reform applied in different countries such as Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Republic Dominican.
