Objective: To analyze the trends in gastric cancer mortality in Peru from 1995 to 2013 and their differences by sex, age groups, natural regions and political regions. Analiza las tendencias de la mortalidad por cáncer gástrico en el Perú. El estudio es descriptivo, longitudinal sobre la base de 49,690 registros de defunción del Ministerio de Salud, de 1995 al 2013; se calcularon las tasas brutas, estandarizadas y específicas de mortalidad por año, sexo, grupo de edad, región política y región natural para analizar sus tendencias, joinpoints y cambios de porcentaje anual (CPA) utilizando el software Joinpoint Regression Program versión 4.3.1.0, La tendencia de mortalidad por cáncer gástrico en el Perú fue decreciente (CPA:-2.3) y estadísticamente significativa (p<0.05), pero muestra disparidades, un decremento más acelerado en mujeres (CPA -2.5) versus hombres (-2.0) y en grupos de edad (CPA para 75 - 79 años: -2.57 versus CPA para 40 – 44: - 1.39); se identifica tres áreas de alta mortalidad: Andes centrales (Huancavelica, Huánuco,...
