Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are a group of neurodevelopmental disorders that affect communication and behavior. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) pointed out on March 30, 2020, that the prevalence of ASD in the United States in 2016 was of 1 in 54 children under the age of 8. The clinical diagnostic criteria are found in both DSM-5 and ICD-10.
