Background: Positive parenting is characterized by promoting healthy relationships in the family based on parental responsibility to ensure children’s rights and optimize their potential development and well-being. Given the importance of this topic for the good development of children, it is essential to have adequate instruments for its evaluation. Objective: to adapt to and validate in the Argentine population a short version of the Positive Parenting Scale (E2p) by Gómez and Muñoz (2014). Method: the scale was administered to a sample of 546 fathers and mothers (age: M = 38.54; SD = 6.37). The functioning of the items was studied, confirmatory factor analyses were carried out to establish whether the factor structure of the short form remained stable with respect to the complete form, and the internal consistency of the test was analized. Results: the proposed factorial model was...

Positive self-esteem promotes health and protects against dysfunctionality, emerging as an important factor of resilience. Its development in early stages favors a functional adaptation to the environment and prevents emotional discomfort in the long term. Since literature states that a family is a key factor for the creation of children’s self esteem, this research will review some family conditions that can affect the personal assessment of the children, highlighting the necessity of creating psychosocial approaches for the creation of healthy family environments, optimizing the parental competences and strengthening the affective bond between parents and children.

The objective of this study was to operationalize the parental modeled construct of prosocial behavior for its evaluation in adolescents. 358 adolescents from 12 to 18 years old participated (M = 14.66; SD = 1.71) of both sexes, from the province of Córdoba, Argentina. Different psychometric analyzes were performed from which it was observed that All items were discriminative and with a corrected homogeneity index ≥ .30. Internal consistency was adequate (FC = .91). The exploratory and confirmatory factor analyzes indicated a one-dimensional structure of the test, which explained 36% of the variance. The final scale was made up of 18 items that presented adequate psychometric functioning, allowing a valid and reliable evaluation of the construct.
