In the context of contrarreforma catholic and the consolidation of the Andean colonization, it is examined the use missionary of the Christian images and the ambiguities of his adoption and interpretation. The subject is focused from the arrival of the jesuitas and, soon, under the emanated directives of third Concilio Limense. The author introduces itself, of this form, in one of the most suggestive subjects of Peruvian colonial history: the process of cristianización in centuries XVI and XVII.

This article studies the royal proclamations, taking into account the political characteristics of the spanish monarchy during the XVIII century. The analysis in centered on the reproduction of a ceremony that was carried out, with local differences, all arround the empire. We will analyse the proclamations of Charles III and Charles IV, since in these ceremonies the central problems wich worried the chilean authorities on those days, were deployed. Among these we will pay special attention to the strategies deployed to incorporate mapuche leaders into the main celebration that legitimate the royal power.

El tema es enfocado a partir de la llegada de los jesuitas y, luego, bajo las directrices emanadas del tercer Concilio Limense. El autor se introduce, de esta forma, en uno de los temas más sugestivos de la historia colonial peruana: el proceso de cristianización en los siglos XVI y XVII.

From the conquest expeditions to the individual migratory flow that developed during the 17th century, numerous Andean indigenous people settled in Santiago. Several dictated wills and left traces in ecclesiastical documents that allow us to observe their participation in the religious brotherhoods of the city. These can be seen, in turn, as a preferential channel for sociability and counter-reformist religiosity and, at the same time, as a privileged space for the insertion and social mobility of a diverse population.
