El objetivo en este libro es indagar sobre cómo la pantalla de Hollywood funciona como soporte ideológico de nuestra época. O, más precisamente, estudiar las ficciones fundamentales sobre el sujeto, los sexos, la ética, la sociedad y la política con las que la gran industria del cine valida, cuestiona o cuestiona para validar mejor, el curso de la globalización capitalista. Basta con decir por ahora que este trabajo es uno de los pocos intentos contemporáneos de analizar la producción cultural hegemónica en el globo desde la periferia.

This article studies the rise of PRR (populist radical right) candidates in Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru. It focuses on political processes and campaign issues in order to determine the singularity of the PRR in Latin America. From there, an attempt is made to arrive at a broader (and more global) definition of the PRR than that of Cas Mudde, the most important academic in far-right studies. For Mudde the central triad of the PRR’s ideology is nativism, authoritarianism, and populism. The Latin American PRR is indeed authoritarian and populist, but it is less oriented toward anti-immigration nativism than towards the defense of the heterosexual family against “gender ideology”. This text presents the main themes of the dossier The Latin American Far Right Today: the politics of the far-right at the national level; the history, narratives, strategies and conditions of production of cultural battle; the struggles of the so-called ‘gender ideology’; and the relations of the far right with an authoritarian, negationist, non-democratic tradition. The articles presented here study the multiple singularities of the far right, but also examine how these are not hierarchically organized around a party, but rather have a decentered and networked structure that Hardt & Negri (2004, 2017) identified with the democratic and progressive movements that emerged at the beginning of the 21st century. Presenta las ponencias del seminario «Industrias culturales: máquina de deseos en el mundo contemporáneo». Entiende a las «industrias culturales» como dispositivos de producción de subjetividades y como agentes centrales en la reproducción social. Además, sostiene que es en las industrias culturales donde hoy en día se produce la «educación sentimental», y donde se moldean los valores y las ideologías sociales. Las ponencias focalizan su análisis en la cultura como mercancía, es decir, en los productos culturales ya no como «obras de arte» o como quehacer de «grandes autores», sino como simbolizaciones devenidas en cosas que, de acuerdo con la teoría marxista del fetichismo de la mercancía, encubren que su valor existe únicamente como producto social.
