Objetivo: determinar el nivel de carga emocional del cuidador primario de niños posoperados de Cardiopatía Congénita en una unidad de Cuidados Intensivos. Material y métodos, univariable de diseño no experimental, de corte transversal de tipo descriptivo; se llevará a cabo en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Cardiovasculares del Instituto Nacional del Niño de San Borja, para lo cual se tomará una muestra de 50 cuidadores primarios, aplicando los criterios de inclusión y exclusión correspondientes, para la toma de datos se hará uso de un cuestionario Escala de Sobrecarga del Cuidador de Zarit, la cual consta de 22 preguntas y cuenta con tres factores o subdimensiones de la carga del cuidador: impacto del cuidado, carga interpersonal y expectativas de autoeficacia.
