El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la captura de carbono en las especies Tillandsia werdermannii y Tillandsia purpurea (siempre viva) ubicadas en las Lomas Arrojadero situada entre los distritos de Inclán y Locumba, Tacna. Para este objetivo, se determinó el contenido de carbono orgánico en tejido vegetal y cantidad de biomasa viva y necromasa acumulada en el Tillandsial. El contenido de biomasa se estimó de manera directa con parcelas de 2 m x 2 m, tomando una muestra de 12 parcelas. El contenido de carbono orgánico se determinó por oxidación utilizando el método propuesto por Schollenberger.
