Macroscopic and histological tests were compared with presence of cell marker tests to better differentiate between Marek’s Disease (MD) and Lymphoid Leukosis (LL) to improve the diagnosis criteria on avian lymphoid tumors. These tests were carried out on 40 laying hens affected with tumors from commercial farms on the North coast of Peru (Trujillo, Lima and Chincha). Initially, using macroscopic criteria (age and affected organ) it was determined that 60% (n=24) were affected from MD and the other 40% (n=16) from LL. Con el objetivo de mejorar los criterios diagnósticos en tumores linfoides aviares, se compararon exámenes macroscópicos, histopatológicos y presencia de marcadores celulares para diferenciar enfermedad de Marek (EM) y leucosis linfoide (LL). Se utilizaron 40 gallinas ponedoras afectadas por tumores, procedentes de granjas comerciales de la costa del Perú (Trujillo, Lima y Chincha).
