We reporte a cros~bite clinic case involving the use of a rigid acrylic-bonded palatal expansion appliance. The proposed design modifications allow the expansion appliance to be used in patients of any dental age and overall in the cross bite correction in the early deciduous dentition. The treatment plan and objectives were to expand the maxilla, elimina te the functional shift and posterior and anterior crossbite correction.

The space maintainer with subgingival extension like a distal wedge is an alternative treatment to prevent dental space loss or to preserve it where it has been lost temporaly second molar before permanent first molar eruption. This is a fixed mantained that fulfills its function with great success because of its permanent position, improving this way poor child collaboration. Here we show a clinical case with acceptable results

The diagnostic and treatment of the pieces held its necessary, to avoid later complications that could endanger the dental arc integrity. Therefore we are planning a multidisciplinary work that will include an early evaluation of the piece until the are will be in perfect line up using the Odontopediatrics and Surgery services (as a first stage). The traction orthodontic with removing devices; later to the surgery exposition could be unique or propose like the first part of the treatment more complex in agreement with the necessity of each patient. In this article we propose a short theory and the proposal of one clinic case of patient who arrived to the service of the Faculty in 2002.

Introducción: El propósito del estudio fue determinar el grado de correlación entre los estadios de calcificación dentaria según Demirjian para caninos, primeras y segundas premolares inferiores, y los estadios de maduración ósea de Fishman (curva de crecimiento puberal). Objective: To compare the perception of the smile midline deviation by laypersons and orthodontists. Material and method: Descriptive and cross-sectional study; in which 102 subjects participated, 60 laypersons and 42 orthodontists, who evaluated the aesthetics of the smile in photos according to the position of the midline, using a visual analog scale from 0-100 mm; for this, a smile photograph of a 17 years old male patient, with optimal occlusion, symmetrical smile midline position centered was modified by creating deviations to the right and left, using the program Adobe Photoshop CS6. The aim of the investigation was to determine the differences between maturing stages of third finger medium phalanx (MP3) of left and right hands. We postulated the hypothesis of the existence of significant differences between the MP3 maturation stages of both hands. A sample of 84 children was extracted from 8 to 15 years old patients of the Dentistry Faculty of UNMSM. First, the child was instructed to place his or her hand with the palm downward on a flat table of wood (20 x 30 cm), with the third finger straight with the long axis of standard size periapical dental x-ray film, in such a way that the middle phalanx was located in the center of the film.
