The representation in films of Afro-descendants has been narrated from a hegemonic point of view that observes from the center to the periphery, therefore, the discourses that have been constructed in this frame contain many stereotypes that are transmitted from generation to generation and perpetuates alterophobia. Learning filmmaking could favor the self-representation of Afro-descendants, giving them the ability to generate their own discourses that allow the preservation and inheritance of their culture, as well as its public manifestation in order to achieve authentic recognition in the public sphere.
