This paper aims to provide a systematic review of what comprises the psychology of religion and spirituality, for this first definitions, conditions and dimensions of religion, secondly, definitions and dimensions of religiosity are reviewed and thirdly, definitions, health models, dimensions and characteristics of spirituality. It is concluded that despite advances in this field, it is still necessary to allocate personal and collective efforts to promote research, given the undeniable role that the life of the human variables such as religious coping, spiritual conviction, spiritual, experiences and forms of religious participation, and spiritual beliefs and religious practices, conversion and faith in God.

Sr. Director: En el volumen 116(4), de la revista Gaceta Médica de Bilbao, el artículo “Validez, confiabilidad y baremación para medir la auto-percepción del estrés académico de estudiantes universitarios” es relevante porque, como argumentan sus autores, permite diagnosticar y monitorear acciones tempranas sobre estrés académico con el fin de lograr el bienestar psicológico en estudiantes.

Sr. Director: En el número 1 del volumen 37 de la revista Nutrición Hospitalaria, el artículo “Cuestionario para medir conductas alimentarias de riesgo de malnutrición por exceso en adolescentes” es relevante porque, como argumentan sus autores, se ha estudiado que las conductas alimentarias constituyen un factor modificable para prevenir la obesidad. A través de la aplicación de este instrumento podrían identificarse patrones de riesgo oportunamente y planear procesos de prevención para esta población.

En el volumen nro. 31(4) en uno de los artículos se propone una metodología relevante para asegurar la calidad de la formación del futuro médico en la Escuela Latinoamérica de Medicina. No obstante, existe una evidente debilidad metodológica a lo largo del artículo que compromete seriamente la calidad de los resultados obtenidos. En la descripción del método, se precisa que se han utilizado como métodos empíricos el análisis documental, la encuesta y la consulta a expertos. En el análisis documental se señala en forma global la revisión de diversos documentos, pero no se explicita qué método se siguió; dependiendo de cuál fue, se ha debido reportar, por ejemplo: los criterios de búsqueda para la revisión de la literatura, la definición de las fuentes, las bases de datos que se consultaron, la estrategia de búsqueda, el periodo en que se realizó la consulta, el dis...

En el volumen 18(4) de la revista Educación Médica, Zavaleta-Reyes y Tresierra-Ayala1 publicaron una investigación relacionada con la calidad metodológica del trabajo de grado de bachiller en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo. Si bien es una investigación importante, presenta debilidades metodológicas que afectan significativamente a los resultados obtenidos.
