The Soxhlet method in extracting plasticizers from PVC compounds presents various areas for improvement, such as the amount of solvent used, the time required in the process, and its costs. This study proposes replacing the Soxhlet method with the ultrasound-assisted method to reduce the time, costs, and amount of solvent used in plasticizer extraction. It also proposes using solvent recovered from previous extractions to reduce costs further. The study involved experimentation with three different grades of PVC compounds (medical, cable, and profile) to compare the recovery of plasticizers by the Soxhlet and the ultrasound-assisted methods. The plasticizers obtained were analyzed using gas chromatography, gas chromatography coupled with mass spectroscopy, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy to evaluate the results of each extraction method as compared to reference co...

The purpose of this investigation is to conduct an analysis of the influence of information technologies (ICTs) and production processes in organizations in the industrial sector in the state of Tamaulipas during times of COVID-19. The study evaluated the municipalities of Tampico, Altamira and Reynosa. The research instrument was applied to managers and directors of different organizations, producing a total of 45 interviews and employing the partial least squares (PLS) regression technique for data analysis. The Omega McDonald index and Dillon-Goldstein’s RHO were employed to assess the instrument’s confidence level. The results indicate that the intervention new information technologies (ICTs) as tools for innovation and competitiveness in the labor market contributed as much as nearly 84 %.

Additive manufacturing, fundamental in industry 4.0, transforms production by creating three-dimensional objects through successive layers. This technology offers design flexibility and material efficiency but faces challenges in optimizing processes to ensure quality and precision. Its integration with industry 4.0 presents issues such as CAD system interoperability, data management, and cybersecurity. Despite these challenges, it enables the creation of complex geometries, reduces raw material consumption, and improves the final product properties. Research into materials and processes is accelerating its adoption, fostering personalized, sustainable, and decentralized business models. This approach is revolutionizing industrial and domestic production and will reshape business models and product design. In the research, 257 documents were reviewed, 172 were excluded, and 85 texts were...
