Trees native to the tropics produce a diversity of fruits, which are rich in phytonutrients (PTN), are often used for juicing and are also used in the production of jams, jellies and canned preserves. However, millions of tonnes of fruit waste are produced worldwide every year. Among them, especially fruit peels are often discarded as waste. The objective of the research was to analyse fruit peels with major applications in agribusiness, and the specific objectives were; to classify the works in various lines of research by categorising relevant studies according to the specific research areas and to identify the most used fruits in research experiments that have used fruit peels as material.
