Chrysochlamys montieliae, a new species of the Clusiaceae family, Clusioideae subfamily, Clusieae tribe, from the Cordillera Azul National Park, Department of Loreto, is described and illustrated. Following the IUCN criteria, we propose to categorize it as Data Deficient (DD), since it is only known from the type locality. In addition, their relationships with related species are discussed.

Due to its privileged location, in the centre of the Andes Mountains, Peru has a vast strip of the Yunga and to the east an immense Amazonian plain, where a high diversity of timber species grows, of which knowledge of their taxonomy is still incipient. For this reason, the main objective of this study was to compile scattered information on the taxonomy of timber species and compare it with our field observations, at the same time proposing a group of species that could be timber in the soon future. A final list of 1 311 species was obtained, based on the catalogue of trees in Peru, the specialized literature that documents the use of timber species, the official list of forest species, and our field observations made over the last 15 years. Reportamos 236 especies nuevas para la ciencia colectadas en los últimos cuarenta y cuatro años dentro de la Reserva de Biosfera Oxapampa Asháninka Yánesha en la región Pasco en la Selva Central del Perú. Este reporte incluye 101 árboles y arbustos; 43 hierbas terrestres; 67 hierbas epífitas; 10 enredaderas y lianas; 4 cañas; 6 helechos arbóreos y 5 palmeras. Estos hallazgos fueron mayormente posible gracias al programa de recolección de muestras botánicas del Missouri Botanical Garden (MBG), así como al establecimiento de parcelas permanentes con la Red Amazónica de Inventarios Forestales (RAINFOR) dentro del Parque Nacional Yanachaga Chemillén, áreas adyacentes como la Reserva Comunal Yánesha y el Bosque de Protección San Matías San Carlos.
