Cuando en los primeros días de diciembre de 2001 –al inicio del gobierno del presidente Toledo– se hizo pública la iniciativa gubernamental de modificar la ley de Telecomunicaciones de ese entonces en lo referente a la radiodifusión, muchos comunicadores demócratas pensamos que nuestro país caminaba hacia una verdadera reconstrucción democrática en la cual los medios de comunicación brindarían su aporte.

Peruvian radio shows a huge diversity in direct proportion to its multiculturality, the same which shows a process full of different influences of social actor which have produced a complex and extremely rich scenario, that is also filled with opportunities and challenges. Beyond the great capital commercial radio are the other radios, small companies, provincial, from church or the mayor or small business owners sons of folkloric melomania, different actors with a passion to establish a new media. The multiple motivations produce a scenario with many types of radio that we wishes to start knowing.

Most studies on media education, literacy and competence focus on basic education and teacher training; in this context, university training for communicators has not received the attention we believe it should have. Therefore, this article presents the results of a systematic exploratory review, following the PRISMA ScR model, of 55 articles published in five scientific reference databases that present empirical studies on media education in university communication courses. The results show that, since 2019, there has been an increase in interest in this subject, that the largest amount of scientific work has been published in English, that nearly half of it presents a theoretical framework on topics related to media education, that quantitative methodologies prevail in the design of studies with the survey as the main tool. El estudio plantea la observación y análisis de la práctica del podcasting en Perú definiéndolo, en primer lugar, como un nuevo medio de comunicación en el escenario digital. A partir de la definición de una muestra de podcasts peruanos se describen las principales características de su contenido sonoro, oferta transmedia y se propone una taxonomía de la podcástfera en Perú. El análisis es además comparativo entre los años 2019 y 2020, es decir observando la relación del podcasting y la pandemia por Covid19. The radio, the very first electric mean of massive communication goes through technological changes facing new digital production processes and distribution of contents. These changes can be highlighted throughout the strategy used on the creation of audible content as well as on how it is accessed and consumed by users. Social sensitivity and practices on the digital radio scene are much different to the ones used on an earlier era. Thus, we propose understanding today as a moment of mutation for this media, a moment in which the digital era of the radio begins.
