This article explores the legal risks associated with personal data protection in the metaverse, animmersive virtual environment that is reshaping digital, economic, and social interactions. The metaverseintroduces significant challenges to privacy by enabling the large-scale and continuous collection ofpersonal data, including sensitive and biometric data, which raises unprecedented security concerns. Thestudy evaluates the ability of Peru's Law N° 29733, the Personal Data Protection Law, and its Regulation,to address these risks.
