En las últimas décadas, los sistemas de aislamiento sísmico elastoméricos se han convertido en una solución efectiva para mitigar el riesgo sísmico en estructuras civiles. El componente elastomérico resiste las fuerzas cortantes en la base de la superestructura desacoplándola del movimiento del suelo durante un terremoto. Por lo tanto, el módulo de corte es un parámetro crítico para garantizar el desempeño sísmico del sistema de aislamiento. Esta investigación presenta un estudio experimental de las propiedades de corte de tres tipos de caucho: caucho natural, caucho reciclado y neopreno, para determinar su viabilidad como materiales elastoméricos en sistemas de aislamiento sísmico. In order to protect buildings against earthquakes that are categorized as "common" according to the Peruvian Earthquake Resistant Standard, a prototype of Recycled Rubber Seismic Isolator ("RRSI") was developed in the structural laboratory of the Japan-Peru Center for Earthquake Engineering Research and Disaster Mitigation - CISMID, Peru. The raw material used to manufacture this device was recycled rubber tires; the rubber tire was cut into square shape sheets with 190mmx190mm of cross-section and a total thickness of around 11 mm. Rubber tire sheets were joined to each other by a vulcanization process, including rubber layers with 3mm of thickness made of recycled rubber tire powder in between rubber tire sheets; and in between the rubber tire sheet and the steel plate at both ends of the bearing. La técnica de ensayo pseudodinámico combina la integración numérica paso a paso con un sistema experimental de control basado en desplazamientos para explorar la respuesta sísmica de las estructuras. Aunque este método ha experimentado un desarrollo significativo y ha demostrado ser confiable y eficaz, su implementación en los laboratorios estructurales del Perú sigue siendo limitada. Con el fin de ayudar a reducir esta brecha, el presente estudio aplica un ensayo pseudodinámico convencional utilizando los sistemas de control, carga y adquisición de datos disponibles en el Laboratorio de Estructuras del Centro Peruano-Japonés de Investigaciones Sísmicas y Mitigación de Desastres (CISMID).
