Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder that responds to multiple etiologies, it constitutes one of the chronic pathologies that afflicts a large percentage of the world population, which is why it is considered as a true public health problem, causing physical and economic consequences in the affected population. Our purpose with this academic work is to provide a vision of our reality regarding the existence of cases of Diabetic Ketoacidosis in our locality and to demonstrate the association raised between serum levels of bicarbonate and the score of the SOFA scale with this metabolic alteration.
