The objective of the research is to describe the transhumance that is understood as the seasonal displacement of cattle in a Aymara community in the XXI century. The methodology used follows the qualitative ethnographic approach, using participant observation to accompany a family composed of eight members, with ages ranging from 8 to 80 years, who still practice the tradition of temporarily moving their livestock from the low puna to the high puna. The results obtained reveal that the shepherds move seasonally due to the exhaustion and shortage of grass in their main enclosure, a situation that leads to herd the cattle for a full day, withstanding the intense heat and the dry cold of the Altiplano. Esta tesis tuvo por objeto de estudio la etnoecología de los pastores de puna de la comunidad campesina de Sisipa. Los objetivos fueron orientados a comprender, explicar y demostrar el umbilicus, a partir de la flora y fauna silvestre, la forma de trashumancia, la organización social y la ritualidad, de los pastores. Este estudio fue enfocado desde el paradigma cualitativo etnográfico, método inductivo-comprensivo que responde al diseño etnográfico-clásico, por lo que se empleó la técnica de la observación participante y la entrevista semiestructurada. La agricultura altiplánica frecuentemente corre el riesgo de ser afectada por las heladas, granizadas, sequías e inundaciones. Estos riesgos climáticos preocupan a los productores, investigadores e instituciones por las incertidumbres que se tienen con respecto al clima, ya que se desconocen de los datos hidrometeorológicos precisos por la inexistencia de una estación meteorológica en la microcuenca Tanana; sin embargo, existen mediciones satelitales poco conocidas como los de la NASA, que proporcionan datos según las coordenadas geográficas.
