This article explores the links between international trade and natural resource economics in recent writings. Firstly, it looks at the implications that adopting environmental regulations would hold for international trade flows and policy-making. Next, it covers the environmental impact of international trade reforms, in particular those that refer to trade in agricultural products. Also, possible methodological connections between these two economic fields within are explored.

In the present paper the authors explore the economic efficiency of the peasant agriculture in the high lands of Peru. They try to rescue the theoric bases of the “Efficient but Poor" hypothesis of Theodore Schultz. After clearly defining the concept of economy efficiency and making a linear programming exercise, they conclude that in some regions it is not possible to increase the peasant income or it is possible to increase it very little with the production factors at hand. El tema de la deuda externa peruana ha sido una de las preocupaciones centrales de economistas, funcionarios gubernamentales y políticos desde hace más de una década. En la actualidad ha cobrado una renovada importancia, particularmente debido al reinicio de las negociaciones con la banca comercial en el marco de un Plan Brady. Silvia Charpentier y Alvaro Quijandría, consultores de GRADE, examinan en este trabajo los antecedentes y la situación actual de la deuda peruana, con el fin de sugerir lineamientos estratégicos para las negociaciones del gobierno peruano con los acreedores extranjeros.
