In this research we tried to compare both reading strategies and performance in an inferential reading comprehension test within undergraduate students, women and men, from three academic areas using narrative texts. Two experiments were carried out corresponding to quantitative investigations, descriptive cross-sectional studies, classifying the students by their academic area (in one experiment) and by their gender (in the other). The participants of the first experiment were 33 undergraduate students belonging to the following academic areas: Economic-Administrative Sciences (11 students); Exact Sciences and Engineering (11); Social Sciences and Humanities (11); while the sample of the second experiment was made up of 18 students (9 women and 9 men). The development of writing skills requires innovative didactic initiatives for students to achieve significant learning achievements. Thus, we implemented a virtual French writing workshop as a foreign language. We carried out a longitudinal study with the aim of knowing the effectiveness of the workshop with 10 participants (8 women and 2 men) with an average age of 22,4 years (SD ±1,6). The implementation of the workshop, in its pilot phase, was effective from the point of view of the students of the language center of a Mexican university. Future research will expand the sample.  

O desenvolvimento da habilidade da produção escrita requer iniciativas didáticas inovadoras para que os alunos alcancem conquistas significativas na sua aprendizagem. Assim, implementamos uma oficina virtual de redação em francês como língua estrangeira. Realizou-se um estudo longitudinal com o objetivo de conhecer a eficácia da oficina com 10 participantes (8 mulheres e 2 homens) com idade média de 22,4 anos (DE+/-1.6). A implementação do workshop, em sua fase piloto, foi efetiva do ponto de vista dos alunos do centro de idiomas de uma universidade mexicana. Pesquisas futuras ampliaram as amostras.
