This note is primarily intended to strengthen the priority of clinical and epidemiological studies of Manuel Marín Barrantes; and merely "preliminary" nature of this note clearly states not to invade the originality of its thesis.

In our previous communications we have concluded the tendency to bradycardia and acceleration discrete reactions to the effort in populated highlands of Peru. Also we did see the heart of the Andean supranormal value judged by its cardiovascular response. In order to express the fact that this bradycardic brake even in newcomers appeared, allowed to assume the intervention of the autonomic nervous system in regulating heart of man in heaven.

El pulso ha sido uno de los elementos que fué primeramente observado en los viajes a las grandes alturas. Se ha pretendido establecer una relación entre la altura y la frecuencia del pulso mientras este fué estudiado durante el viaje. En la actualidad - en los casos de ascensiones sin esfuerzo o aeroplano - está demostrado que tal hecho no ocurre, sino en determinadas condiciones de rarefacción del aire. Podemos afirmar, como resultado de nuestras observaciones, que esta frecuencia es relativamente moderada y que únicamente cuando se presentan signos de Soroche se rompe el ritmo normal para aparecer una taquicardia más o menos intensa.

In the previous communication we had necessarily refer to the performance of the heart against the effort to determine the frequency characteristics, shape, stability, etc., constituting man's pulse rate of the Andes.
