Objetivo. Analizar las evidencias científicas sobre el efecto del consumo de nitrato dietético en la mejora del rendimiento del ejercicio en pacientes adultos con EPOC. Materiales y métodos. Se evaluaron estudios de los diez últimos años, que incluyan pacientes adultos con EPOC sometidos a la prueba de caminata de 6 minutos. Se realizó la búsqueda en las bases de datos de Medline, Scopus y ScienceDirect. Resultados. La búsqueda que se realizó, logro identificar 1684 estudios, de los cuales se seleccionaron 2 estudios que cumplían con los criterios de inclusión. Los términos de búsqueda incluidos, fueron términos como ‘’dietary nitrate’’, ‘’nitrate’’, ‘’copd’’ y sus ‘’entry terms’’.
