Introduction: The current tendency regarding psychometric assessment is to use brief versions of measurement tools. Objective: The present study sought to compare the psychometric properties of various versions in the length of the Invalidating Children Environment Scale (ICES). Method: Three hundred and twelve Peruvian university students participated as a sample. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed, and internal consistency was considered the reliability method. Results: The proposal with the best-fit indices was the brief version with nine items compared to the original version (14 items). Adequate internal consistency coefficients were determined for the scale factors. Finally, convergent and divergent validity were obtained through significant associations with the constructs of anxiety and depression. Conclusion: Various versions ...

Sports fanaticism is a non-highly studied concept, so instruments that evaluate this variable are relatively scarce. The current study aimed to obtain the psychometric properties of the first Spanish version of the Sports Fanaticism Scale (SFS) in Peruvian adults. 386 people participated (M=29.1 years, SD=12.1). Evidence of content validity was obtained through expert judgment (Vaverage =.84). The hierarchical model presented better fit indices for the EFD compared to a unidimensional model (RMSEA =.137; SRMR =.088; TLI =.939; CFI =.954). Convergent and divergent validity were determined through the association with relevant variables (r = -.296 -.446; AVE =.692 -.779; CR =.783 -.907). Acceptable internal consistency coefficients were obtained for general factor as dimensions (¿ =.67 -.92). EFD is an instrument that meets current psychometric standards. © Copyright 2018: Servicio de Pu...

While many studies have examined the impact of forced migration on Venezuelan migrants in Latin America, to date scholars have not examined the effect of certain coping mechanisms, namely social support and emotion regulation. Using data from 386 Venezuelan migrants living in Peru (M = 20.22 years, SD = 1.33, 46.4% women), we investigated whether perceived social support from three different sources (family, friends, and significant other) correlated with emotion regulation strategies (cognitive reappraisal and suppression) while controlling for the type of cohabitation and time of residence. The results (1) confirmed the originally proposed internal structure of the Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, showing reliability and validity even in a sample of migrants. Findings demonstrated that (2) perceived social support from family positiv...

The adaptation of psychometric tests in the context of vulnerable populations in Lima Metropolitana is highly relevant due to its implications for diagnosis and assessment in mental health. This study aimed to identify the psychometric properties of the Patient Health Questionnaire for Depression and Anxiety (PHQ-4) in attendees of community support programs in San Juan de Miraflores. The sample consisted of 115 participants (M = 37.2 years, SD = 9.20; 89.6 % females and 10.4 % males). Exploratory factor analysis identified a unidimensional structure as the best-fitting internal model. The analysis yielded internal consistency coefficients above the minimum thresholds established for research contexts. The study also established percentile-based norms for vulnerable communities. The discussion outlines the implications for psychometric assessment and prevent...
