Some of the problems of investigation on violence in our country, have to do with limitations on access to information, cooperation, funding and lack of knowledge of adequate procedures for collection and analysis of data. In order to make up for shortcomings in information, method, and bring us to the generation of a critical mass of researchers, two meetings on research on violence were organized. Individual and institutional researchers working in care and intervention in violence attended the first meeting. Consultation was done on access to financing sources, training requirements and suggestions for the organization of research into violence at the national level. The second meeting sought to strengthen the capacities of researchers on qualitative information and on Atlas Ti application for analysis of qualitative data.

This is a preliminary qualitative study on social representations (SR) family violence (FV) of VF policemen serving in Lima Women Police Stations. Objective: To determine the VF RS policemen having women police stations in Lima. Methodology: Qualitative study of transversal in the world of police operators working in three women’s police stations and serve complaints about VF . Interview with 24 operators and the word association technique in group sessions informed consent was used. The data to descriptive and specific analysis of the relevant variables in the study underwent. The main results showed that the figurative nucleus or core of the RS of the VF is related to aggression and abuse as attributes associated beatings, insults, humiliations; observed a prevalence of psychological violence as a representative of family violence.

Se trata de un estudio preliminar de tipo cualitativo sobre las representaciones sociales (RS) de la violencia familiar (VF) de policías que atienden VF en las Comisarías de Mujeres de Lima. Objetivo: determinar las RS de la VF que tienen los policías de las Comisarías de Mujeres en Lima. Metodología: estudio cualitativo de tipo transversal en el universo de operadores policiales que trabajan en tres Comisarías de Mujeres y atienden denuncias sobre VF. Se utilizó la entrevista a 24 operadoras así como la técnica de asociación de palabras en sesiones grupales previo consentimiento informado.
