Ovarian endometrioma is the most frequent endometriotic lesion, affecting about 55% of patients suffering of endometriosis. It is a marker of severity of the disease, associated with deep endometriotic lesions independently of its size. Its compromise is usually multifocal. Though commonly diagnosed in women of reproductive age, it can develop in adolescent girls and even before menarche. Treatment of the ovarian endometrioma is either medical or surgical. Medical treatment, which aims to relieve pain, is mostly used as an adjuvant following surgery in order to decrease recurrence. Surgical treatment plays a major role, despite its effects on the ovarian reserve; rates of pain relief and spontaneous pregnancy favor this approach. Four conservative surgical techniques can be used, all of them feasible by laparoscopy: pseudo capsule excision (cystectomy), ablation, the two-stage technique ...

Endometriosis, a disease of unknown etiology, causes significant morbidity in reproductive-age women as a result of chronic pelvic pain. Several mechanisms could explain the relationship between endometriosis and pelvic pain, with potential therapeutic targets. Endometriosis-associated pain can be treated medically or with surgery either conservative or radical. Medical therapies induce a steady hormonal status unfavorable for endometriosis development. Surgical therapies for endometriosis-associated pain include conservative treatments such as removal of endometriotic implants, nodules, and adhesions with restoration of normal pelvic anatomy. Radical surgery involves both removal of the uterus with or without the ovaries in patients who have completed childbearing, and removal of all residual pelvic lesions.

Objective: To identify the level of satisfaction of the external users hospitalized in the general surgery and internal medicine services of a National Police Hospital. Methods: Observational, descriptive, comparative cross-sectional study. Independent variables: dimensions of quality, dependent variable: level of satisfaction and intervening variables: sex, age, level of education, hospitalization services (internal medicine and general surgery). Out of 377 hospitalized patients, 363 met the selection criteria, the modified SERVQUAL survey was applied. Inferential statistics and measures of descriptive frequency were used. Results: The external users that predominated were: adults and older adults, with educational level between secondary and higher; a minimum percentage were illiterate and young adults. The female sex predominated in the internal medicine service and the male sex in th...
