                  The research presents a simple descriptive study design on reading comprehension level of students of 4th grade in Primary of Public Institutions situated in Mi Peru-Ventanilla. It was used as an instrument the ACL test. The sample was 449 students. The results presents that the highest percentage of students located on the low level in reading comprehension and according to dimensions the most of them are located on the upper level of the literal dimension and low levels of the organizational dimension, inferential and critical. Concluding that, the children in the area of Mi Peru, need to strengthen the more complex dimensions of reading comprehension to ensure the progressive acquisition of knowledge. The findings are discussed in relation to the literature on levels of reading comprehension in Primary, also indicate its limitations.
