Eleodoro Vargas Vicuña is considered one of the greatest storytellers of the generation of the 50s and of Peruvian literature in a general sphere. In this study, the Taita Cristo (1964) account will be analyzed from the perspective of death. In this sense, the previous aspect will be taken as knowledge related to the oral popular tradition, evoked in the dialogues of the characters and the plot development. Likewise, the function of orality will be highlighted, a prominent issue in the author's book due to its ability to articulate different themes, including the particular ritual nature of death seen from the Andean perspective. For our purposes, the stories “El tuco y la paloma” and “El desconocido” will be examined.

The purpose of this research is to study the concept of the baroque as a fundamental aspect in the vision of the existence of the poetry book Travesía de extramares by Martín Adán (1950). To inquire about the baroque influence on the poet's work, the texts Los exilios interiores by Lauer (1983) and César Vallejo, Martín Adán, Emilio Adolfo Westphalen by Bendezú (2006). The first one will observe the baroque aspect related to hermeticism; of the second, the  examination of the respective poems. On the other hand, the notion of the baroque in  D'Ors will be investigated, where the aforementioned term is exhibited in the manner of a supratemporal category in constant as opposed to the classic. The consequences of our research manage to contemplate the vision of the baroque as an oppositional concept, rather than a strict literary style.

El presente estudio tiene como propósito analizar los aspectos de relación entre el estilo y la visión de mundo en Travesía de Extramares (1950), obra del poeta peruano Martín Adán. En primer lugar, se examinan las características estilísticas del poemario, identificando la presencia de metáforas, antítesis, terminología marítima, motivos musicales y el predominio de un lenguaje de filiación barroca. En segundo lugar, se aborda la visión de mundo expresada en los sonetos, donde símbolos como la rosa, la travesía, la música, Dios y la muerte revelan una concepción existencial particular. El análisis simbólico permite reconocer una visión filosófica de la existencia centrada en la belleza, la muerte y la eternidad, vinculada con corrientes del pensamiento platónico, heideggeriano y con la estética de Eugenio d’Ors.
