Pancreatic cancer is a malignant neoplasm with a poor prognosis. When it manifests clinically with cold jaundice, general repercussion or dyspepsia, it usually corresponds to a locally advanced tumor. Enterorrhagia as a form of presentation of pancreatic cancer is extremely infrequent; it corresponds to a severe form with an ominous prognosis. We present the case of a 61-year-old man who attended emergency service for enterorrhagia associated with organic abdominal pain and general repercussions, to whom a diagnosis of pancreatic tail cancer was diagnosed. Colonoscopy revealed mucosal infiltration with intense edema, erythema, necrosis, and spontaneous bleeding at the level of the splenic flexure of the colon. Histology confirmed colonic infiltration by pancreatic neoplasm. Computed tomography allowed staging in stage IV. Palliative surgical treatment was performed, with a survival of 3 ...

Oesophageal cancer corresponds to a malignant neoplasm with a poor prognosis. Neuroendocrine tumors of the esophagus are very rare, accounting for less than 2%. When clinically manifested by permanent, progressive dysphagia and general impact, they usually correspond to locally advanced tumors with a poor prognosis. We present the case of a 45-year-old man who attended medical attention for persistent and progressive dysphagia, who was diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma of the oesophagus. The diagnosis was reached through endoscopy, revealing an extensive, vegetative and stenosing lesion occupying three-quarters of the oesophageal circumference. Histology confirmed the diagnosis of poorly differentiated small cell malignancy with positive immunohistochemistry for chromogranin A and synaptophysin. In light of the diagnosis of small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the oesophagus wi...

Cyclic vomiting syndrome is a benign, chronic, functional gastrointestinal pathology that manifests clinically with intense nausea and vomiting interspersed with asymptomatic periods. Its diagnosis is made according to the Rome IV criteria, which require the presence of at least 2 episodes of vomiting in the past 6 months or 3 or more episodes in the past year, with the corresponding exclusion of secondary causes that can explain the vomiting. We present the case of a 44-year-old man who consulted for intermittent nausea and vomiting of 1 year evolution with hydroelectrolytic repercussion and multiple emergency consultations. The diagnosis of cyclic vomiting syndrome was made and treatment with amitriptyline was started due to odulatory effect to prevent the recurrence of episodes. After 6 months of establishing it, the patient is asymptomatic.

Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) is the inability of the pancreas to produce essential digestive enzymes for fat metabolism, leading to systemic and nutritional repercussions. Although its manifestations are typically digestive, systemic complications such as enteric hyperoxaluria can occur. We present a 68-year-old man with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, who developed steatorrheic diarrhea and significant weight loss. Computed tomography revealed an atrophic pancreas with diffuse calcifications. Based on a diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) was initiated empirically with clinical improvement. Three years later, while asymptomatic from a gastrointestinal perspective, he developed bilateral calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis progressing to end-stage renal disease, requiring hemodialysis. This was interpreted as oxalate nephropathy sec...
