The research revolves around the purpose of understanding from the triad one-on-one and things the realities present in a Venezuelan elementary school immersed in communities with different levels of violence. The method of hermeneutic phenomenology was used, with targeted interviews and content analysis, emerging categories and triangulating information.  The findings from the Other are: cultural violence, intolerance and recognition of diversity, from Things: Values and Role of teacher and family and from the One: Culture and Ancestral Values, Affective Communication. El propósito de este ensayo fue reflexionar acerca de la posibilidad de contagiarse con el COVID-19, al transgredir las normas de autocuidado, lo cual invita a hacerlo desde lo metafórico de la frase “la vida es una tómbola”. Para centrar el impacto que sobrevino al escuchar decir “a mí no me va a pasar”, en tanto al recorrer la “ciudad jardín” de Venezuela, percibí un aspecto del imaginario comunitario, respecto al significado que le otorgaban al riesgo de contagio, lo que ha alterado la vida cotidiana de la comunidad.
