La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar la calidad del agua del río Ichu en zonas urbanas del distrito de Huancavelica, estableciéndose seis puntos de muestreo, estos fueron georreferenciados y las muestras de agua fueron analizadas en el laboratorio RCJ Labs Universal, se determinaron los parámetros físicos, químicos y microbiológicos, siendo la demanda bioquímica de oxígeno, oxígeno disuelto coliformes fecales nitratos, pH, temperatura, sólidos totales disueltos, fosfatos totales, turbidez, en los puntos de muestreo lo cual permitió calcular el Índice de Calidad de Agua (ICA-NSF), cuyos valores fluctuaron entre 27 y 32, representativos de una mala calidad de estas aguas, por encontrarse en el rango de 26 a 60 en la referida escala.
