Objetivo: Evaluar las características de prescripción y dispensación de antimicrobianos de reserva en una clínica de Perú. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, no experimental, de corte transversal y la recolección de datos se hizo de manera retrospectiva. La población se conformó por 1396 recetas que incluyen antimicrobianos de reserva de la clínica en estudio. El muestreo fue de tipo probabilístico, aleatorio simple; se consideró una precisión mínima del 5 % con una proporción de pérdidas del 9 %. Se observaron 440 recetas médicas prescritas. Se empleó la técnica de la observación, que tuvo como instrumento la ficha de recolección de datos que comprendía 18 indicadores observables.
