This study presents the design and evaluation of a Sustainable Heating System (SHS) that uses agricultural and livestock residual biomass as an energy source to heat a thermal fluid. The stored energy is used to climatize a 1 m² prototype dwelling, specifically designed for high Andean regions where low temperatures pose a challenge for thermal comfort. The system consists of a network of copper pipes arranged in a coil, connected to a storage tank where biomass combustion takes place, powered by gas generated from an external biodigester. The prototype dwelling was constructed using thermal insulating materials, such as gypsum boards and sheep wool, to optimize heat retention. Three scenarios were evaluated: a dwelling without insulation, a dwelling with insulation, and a dwelling with insulation plus the heating system. Results showed that the complete system implementation allowed th...

The management of organic solid waste is a global challenge, and they are experiencing growth commensurate with the population. This concern is due to the doubling of the production of organic solid waste, which is more than 1 billion tons per year. In order to minimize the generation of waste or reduce the volume of waste entering the sanitary landfill, it is suggested to use organic waste recycling as a circular economy strategy to produce biological composite materials. This study is a literature review of biological composite, aiming to determine the physical characteristics of physical and chemical parameters in the process of organic solid waste composting, to obtain various parameters affecting the process, such as pH value, water content, C/N ratio, temperature and particle size. According to the review, compost made from food residues provides more nutrition than agricultural an...
