Planteamiento del problema: La prediabetes, es un estado intermedio hacia la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DM2), caracterizado por concentraciones de glucosa en sangre mayores de lo normal, pero menores que los umbrales establecidos para el diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Alrededor de un 10 % de las personas diagnosticadas con prediabetes desarrollará DM2 cada año y un 70 % desarrollará DM2 a lo largo de su vida. Por esta razón, es urgente la necesidad de implementar un método de detección simple, rápido y sin laboratorio. Por lo que se aplicarán la prueba y la Puntuación de Riesgo Peruana (Peruvian Risk Score) que nos ayudarán en la detección precoz de pacientes que pueden cursar con prediabetes. Objective: To determine the association between maternal health and EBF in Peru, based on data from the ENDES 2021-2023. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analytical cross-sectional study was conducted using data from ENDES 2021-2023. The study population included mothers of children under six months of age. The dependent variable was EBF, while independent variables included maternal age, region of residence, difficulty concentrating, appetite distortion, type of delivery, prenatal care, and breastfeeding training.
