Introduction: Anxiety is a disease that generates restlessness and excessive worry about something threatening, this condition causes disorder for those who suffer from it. A theoretical postulate is Beck’s theory of anxiety (Beck et al., 1999). In Peru there are various figures of population groups that suffer from this disease, but there are no studies of adapted questionnaires that measure anxiety, which are unreliable in a national context. Faced with this, this inventory is a good option that meets the needs to measure the symptomatology of this condition. Objective: Adapt the Beck anxiety inventory in young Peruvians. La siguiente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de ansiedad social de Liebowitz en adolescentes. De tipo psicométrico, de diseño instrumental, la muestra estuvo conformada por 500 adolescentes del distrito de Ate y el instrumento aplicado fue la Escala de Ansiedad Social de Liebowitz. Se obtuvo como resultados que la validez de contenido salió con un puntaje adecuado de cuatro en la escala de Lashwe esto mismo determinado por 10 expertos por el área, asimismo, los ítems mostraron adecuados índices de homogeneidad, se tuvo un análisis factorial teniendo los siguientes índices: CFI: .61, TLI: .59, SRMR: . 08, RMSEA: .08. Con una confiabilidad de .94 que fue realizado mediante el Alfa lo cual determina una buena validez. Concluyendo que la Escala de Ansiedad Social de Liebowitz es adecuada para ser usada en adolescentes de Ate.
