A diversity of scales are used as screening tools for depression in clinical settings and epidemiological research; however, many of them have a large number of items and are only validated in person. Objective: The aim of this study was the online validation of the 4-item short version of the Depressive Psychopathology Scale (DPS-4), taking as a reference standard the Depression Scale of the Center for Epidemiological Studies (CES-D). Antecedentes: Diversas escalas se utilizan como herramientas de detección de depresión en entornos clínicos e investigación epidemiológica, sin embargo, muchas de ellas presentan una gran cantidad de ítems y están validadas sólo de manera presencial. Objetivo: Validar en línea la versión corta de 4 ítems de la Escala de Psicopatología Depresiva (EPD-4), tomando como patrón de referencia la Escala de Depresión del Centro de Estudios Epidemiológicos (CES-D) por medio de una encuesta virtual.
