In the learning process, to understand what it is read turns out to be fundamental, because the person tends to learn, in the most cases, through reading; therefore, the conduction of the teaching learning process should give him/her suitable capacities to understand a written text. La investigación tuvo como propósito determinar la relación entre la timidez y expresión oral en inglés en estudiantes de secundaria, Institución Educativa “Virgen Dolorosa” Tarapoto – 2023. Para este estudio se recurrió a un tipo de investigación básica, con un diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional. La muestra fue compuesta por 61 estudiantes de segundo de secundaria grado de dicha institución educativa que estuvieron debidamente matriculados en el sistema siagie, a quienes se aplicó un cuestionario para valorar el nivel de timidez y una ficha de observación para valorar en nivel de expresión oral en el área de inglés. Encontrándose como resultados que el nivel de timidez de los estudiantes es moderado con un 71% y con respecto al nivel de expresión oral el 69% de los estudiantes se encuentran en inicio.
