Solid waste was characterized and quantified in a rural community, district of Vitis, in the province of Lima, Peru in order to determine the district's per capita production, density, composition and humidity of household and non-household waste for proper planning of the management. A modeling equation was carried out for climate changes in 2080 and 2099 under the fourth climate scenario proposed by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) where a very high level of greenhouse gas emissions is assumed (RCP “Representative Concentration Pathway” 8.5); to predict the yield of corn production with low or no fertilization and high fertilization as a technique for adaptation and mitigation of the adverse effects of climate change. The percentage reduction in corn yield by 2080 with low or no fertilizer application is 30 to 55%, and with high fertilizer application it is 10 to 20%. Climate change would have negative impacts on future agricultural production and food security. Fertilization is one of the mitigation and adaptation strategies for corn cultivation in the face of climate change.

The objective of this work was to describe the nesting behavior of the Andean hummingbird (Amazilia franciae Bourcier & Mulsant, 1846) and to classify the ecosystem services it provides in the peasant community of Yananyac, Huancavelica, Peru according to the evaluation of the Millennium Ecosystems of the United Nations. Monitoring of ten Andean hummingbird nests was carried out in the months of April and May 2021 in an agricultural area of ​​the peasant community of Yananyac. The nests were located between bushes and fruit-bearing plants, at an average height of 1.84 m. Los Bosques Montanos Nublados (BMN) al igual que otros bosques se caracterizan por brindar servicios de regulación climática a partir de la captura de CO2. En esta investigación se buscó realizar la valoración económica de la Reserva de Carbono en la Biomasa Aéreo (RCBA) en dos tipos de cobertura vegetal el Área de Conservación Regional Bosque Nublado Amaru-Huachocolpa-Chihuana (ACRBNA, Huancavelica-Perú). Para ello se estimó la biomasa aérea (usando ecuaciones alométricas) en dos parcelas de 0,5 hectáreas establecidas en bosque de montaña altimontano (P1) y el bosque de montaña montano (P2). Existe poca evidencia empírica de aplicación de metodologías inclinados a dar valor económico a los bienes y servicios asociados al bosque nublado. Esta revisión teórica expone la valoración económica de la captura de carbono en bosques nublados. Estos ecosistemas frágiles son amenazados por su colonización rápida y su extensión forestal pequeña. La valoración es importante para estimar económicamente el impacto ambiental y definir adecuadamente los instrumentos de política y gestión ambiental.
