The city of Cusco, former capital city of the Inca Civilization, has housed for over three centuries the Universidad National San Antonio Abad of Cusco (UNSAAC). Study of the linguistic attitudes of college students towards Quechua becomes necessary to understand the potential landscape for the maintenance and recovery of the Quechua languagein Cusco, particularly at the UNSAAC which has agrowing Quechua-speaking population. This article explores thelinguistic attitudes of university students towards Quechua through ananonymous, non-probabilistic survey study.
