El propósito del presente estudio fue determinar los cambios ortopédicos en los pacientes bebés de 0-4 meses de edad con fisura labio palatina tratados con moldeado pre-quirúrgico nasoalveolar. Se realizó un estudio de tipo prospectivo, longitudinal, cuasi-experimental y autocontrolado de un grupo de pacientes bebes con fisura labio palatina unilateral (n=4) y bilateral (n=2) que acudieron a la Unidad de Fisurados del Servicio de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Maxilar del Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño durante el periodo de abril del 2011 a abril del 2012. The buccal fat pad due to its size, vascular richness and versatility is a reliable flap. The technique which uses this anatomic element as flap is better tolerated by the patient, easy development and with fewer complications compared to other techniques. For the advantages of this technique is important to highlight its usefulness in the closure of oroantral comunications. This paper describes the technique used in a case of recurrent oroantral fistula which was recidivant to other treatments, treated in The National Institute of Child´s Health.

The aim of the study was to determine the influence of oral habits more prevalent in the dental occlusion of infants who attended the dental clinic of San Marcos University. This is a descriptive and cross-section study in patients attending the Infant Clinic of the Child, in the 2010. The sample consisted in 50 infants who recorded the first plane of occlusion. The data collection was obtained through a survey to parents and subsequently performed clinical examination for registration of malocclusion in children. They applied the chi-square test of Pearson r (SPSS 17) with a significance level of 95 % (p <0.05).Our study observed a relation between the common digital suction depth of the palate with 60 % (11 infants) (p 0.01).
