El objetivo del estudio se centró en elaborar una propuesta de Sistema de Gestión de residuos sólidos hospitalarios para reducir el impacto ambiental en el Hospital III Daniel Alcides Carrión de Tacna. El diseño de la investigación fue no experimental, transversal, prospectivo; por lo que se realizó un diagnostico basal a fin de llevar a cabo la caracterización de residuos sólidos hospitalarios en un periodo de siete días, y para la valoración de los componentes de gestión y manejo de residuos sólidos hospitalarios se aplicaron fichas de evaluación según se indica en la NTS N° 096- MINSA/DIGESA, por lo que este procedimiento de evaluación permite identificar el impacto ambiental generado por el inadecuado manejo de residuos sólidos en todas sus etapas de manejo. The purpose of the study was to study the characteristics and know the amount of solid waste generated by the university community in the Capanique campus of the Private University of Tacna (UPT). For this study, the municipal solid waste regulations of the MINAM (2012) were applied.
