The new intercultural trends seek to recover knowledge of ancestral peoples long forgotten or minimized until nihilization by ethnocentric drift of European origin. The purpose of this article is, to reflect on some important aspects of Bilingual Intercultural Education, based on a research experience of the cocama-cocamilla Amazonian thought, in the native community "Independencia" Río Amazonas-Loreto during 2014, which will allow us to address some concepts such as ancestral knowledge, interculturality, Amazonian Thinking cocama-cocamilla, hidden curriculum in the educational activity of the “Independencia” community.

El estudio del pensamiento amazónico cocama, emprendido en la comunidad nativa de Independencia (Loreto) para optar al Grado de Magíster, en la mención Educación Intercultural y bilingüe, enfoca el problema de la educación intercultural y bilingüe de manera cuantitativa y cualitativa; es decir, es una investigación de tipo mixto o multimetódica, triangulando entre datos cuantitativos obtenidos a través de la encuesta y datos cualitativos obtenidos a través de la entrevista en una aproximación de observación directa. En ese sentido, la parte cualitativa está más cerca al método etnográfico para asignar significado e interpretación a las acciones humanas donde el aspecto hermenéutico-interpretativo es muy importante para la búsqueda de estos significados y así arribar a las conclusiones propias de la investigación.
