In the context of an information and knowledge society in which technological development is moving ahead at a staggering speed, probing the sense of sufficiency in the graduates active in the field of work is presented as an imperative need for the profession´s improvement and its teaching. The objective of this study is to determine the journalistic perception about university education and the satisfaction level of journalists with their university education, including aspects of technical, theoretical and practical management. To meet this aim, forty semi-structured interviews have been conducted with active Chilean, Ecuadorian and Mexican journalists, from the four media (press, television, radio and internet). El artículo analiza las transformaciones que están sufriendo las rutinas profesionales de los periodistas debido a la participación cada vez más activa de la audiencia en la definición del escenario mediático, como consecuencia de sus posibilidades de interacción en el entorno de convergencia de medios. La reflexión nace específicamente a partir del estudio del comportamiento profesional de los periodistas de radio Bío Bío de la ciudad de Concepción, el único medio de comunicación operativo para una población de casi dos millones de personas tras la catástrofe del 27 de febrero del 2010 (27F).

This work examines the specialization process that goes through the journalism profession. Nowadays, specialized knowledge leads the journalism through fragmentation and search of the necessary competences to face a reality that is not only complex but also aromized. This reality needs a meticulous and specific work. For this reason, the analysis tries to establish the specialized training not only as a technique necessity, but also asan ethical obligation for the journalist that wants ro respond the more and more speciftc audience s demands. This way: Itcould perform its last function executing an integrated role with the pubiic, giving the knowledge to the society.

The process of disaffection in the political activity in Chile and the legal amendments to the electoral propaganda and the financing of campaigns in the country generated that parties and candidates could see social networks as an opportunity of dissemination and adverti- sing through the Internet. However, the practice shows that, despite its manifest importance, the activity has not reached an edge of professionalization yet. This explanatory research depicts the use of digital platforms specifically in four Chilean cities during the 2016 munici- pal election. Based on that information, there will be a critical reflection on the role of the journalist and social communicator in the design of relevant communication strategies in the electoral activity.

The right to be forgotten has been widely discussed from a legal perspective. Courts have analyzed the existence and constitutional compatibility of the right in the national legal order of several jurisdictions around the world. However, even if the right to be forgotten is not a universally recognized right, by understanding how the law approaches tensions that arise between the right to freedom of expression and the rights to seek, impart and receive information, on one hand, and a right to be forgotten, underpinned by the rights to honor, privacy and personal data protection on the other, journalists can extract ethical guidelines that can orient them in the correct use of archival information about individuals to report on current events.
